Vegan Secret Sauce…don’t cha wanna knoooowwwwww

Today our friend Andy made us some delicious vegan sandwiches! It was so yummy and also very easy to make! It was just vegan bread, tofu, cucumbers, shredded carrots, and an amazing vegan sauce. The secret ingredient was the peanut soy ginger sauce, which was basically just peanut butter, soy sauce and ginger all mixed together. Delicioso!

Blenders or juicers are key for making great vegan anythings…you can just toss in fresh veggies, spices and whatever else you think would be good, and BOOYAKASHA! A very tasty addition to any vegan meal!

Speaking of which, my boyfriend’s mom just made some wonderful salsa [which is almost always vegan of course!]. Holy guacamole. Well actually, no guacamole, but just a mouthful of exotic, Asian-inspired salsa! Okay, so from what I gather, this is what was in it:

  • cilantro
  • garlic
  • tomato sauce from a whole, ripe tomato

It’s hard to believe that it was only made from 3 ingredients…so I think I must have lost something in the translation. The reason why is because the salsa had an unusual sweet taste…I feel like I’ve tasted that sweetness in a Vietnamese sauce at some point in my life. Anyway, slightly off the topic of yummy vegan recipies, this month is actually my “vegetarian anniversary.” Tee hee…it’s officially been one year since I’ve turned to the green side! Along the way, I have adopted a more vegan regimen/lifestyle, cutting out more and more animal products…simply because if you care about some animals [i.e. cows, pigs, chickens], why discriminate?
